EV Market Entry & Launch Governance
Situation
A new automotive dealership was preparing to enter Jordan with a portfolio of Chinese electric vehicle brands that had little to no awareness in the local market.
The business needed to establish credibility quickly, build market familiarity, and compete in a category shaped by value, trust, after-sales confidence, and showroom conversion.
Challenge
The initial request was to recommend an agency for the launch. The deeper need was broader: senior marketing structure, clearer governance, stronger local creative judgment, better owned-channel presence, and a launch approach that could connect awareness with inquiries, footfall, and sales conversations.
Without that structure, the launch risked becoming a series of disconnected activities rather than a disciplined market-entry effort.
Role
Short Pencils supported the assignment as a fractional CMO during the launch phase.
The work included guiding the agency selection process, supporting the final decision, shaping the launch approach, establishing marketing governance, improving owned social media presence, developing the broader marketing plan, and recommending quick-win initiatives to support awareness, inquiries, showroom visits, and conversion.
Value created
Short Pencils helped move the client from an agency-selection task to a more disciplined market-entry approach.
The advisory role brought senior judgment to partner selection, creative direction, governance, channel readiness, and sales-funnel alignment, ensuring launch activity was connected to business outcomes.
Outcome
What began as a three-month advisory assignment evolved into a nine-month engagement, reflecting the client’s need for continued senior counsel, the complexity of execution, and the value of experienced marketing leadership during a fast-moving launch.
